Jack Dawson… Penniless artist who wins a ticket onto Titanic in 1912, attends a first class dinner, develops a taste for the finer things in life, pockets the Heart of the Ocean, survives the sinking, pawns the diamond, spends the following ten years building his wealth and in 1922 moves to West Egg as Jay Gatsby… Millionaire with a shady past and fear of swimming pools.
At this rate, Lea Michele will soon have a résumé to rival that of Rachel Berry, the overachieving student and aspiring theater star she plays on “Glee.” The latest addition to the to-do list of Ms. Michele, a star of the Fox musical comedy-drama, is a book that she will write for the Harmony Books imprint of Random House’s Crown Publishing Group, the publisher said Thursday.
Ms. Michele’s book, titled “Brunette Ambition” and planned for publication next spring, is described in a news release as a “part memoir, part how-to and part style-guide” that chronicles its author “from normal Bronx-born schoolgirl to Broadway child star to lead actress in one of the most popular shows on television.” The release said the book would offer a “behind-the-scenes perspective” from Ms. Michele, who has also appeared on Broadway in “Spring Awakening,” “Fiddler on the Roof,” “Ragtime” and “Les Misérables,” as well as her “practical advice and lessons” for young women who hope to follow in her footsteps.
Ms. Michele said in a statement: “There wasn’t a guidebook when I was growing up, that detailed everything I would need to do, and know, to get where I am today. But I believe I can write one of sorts: not a how-to-make-it-in-show-business book, but a guide to harnessing tenacity, passion, enthusiasm, and hard work to make your dreams come true.”
At the very least, we expect it to have a blurb from Rachel Berry’s personal heroine Patti LuPone.

Donald Glover talking about the comments he received during his campaign to be the next Spider-Man (x)
“I was talking about it with Dan Eckman, who directed my Bonfire video. Can you imagine that trailer? That would be dope. Like it makes sense… a poor black kid in Queens. Like it just fits.”
“My life has changed in almost every way but I couldn’t be more grateful. I couldn’t be happier - I feel like the luckiest guy in the world.” - Cory Monteith
“No one knows me better than Cory. No one knows what it’s been like to go through this more than he does. Feeling like you have that net underneath you allows you to jump higher and go farther. He makes me feel like I can do anything. For the first time in my life, I feel really, really settled and happy. I feel like the luckiest girl in the world.” Lea Michele
